Troubleshooting

Most issues have a quick fix. If yours isn't here, email us — and know that your recordings are safe even when something looks wrong.

Lucca can't hear me / no transcript

Check that Lucca has microphone permission: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, and confirm Lucca is switched on. Then check System Settings → Sound to make sure the input device is the microphone you're actually using.

The model won't download or load

The first-launch model download needs a connection and about 10 GB of free space. If it stalls, confirm you have space and a stable connection, then quit and reopen Lucca — it will resume. The download is one-time; after it completes, Lucca runs offline.

Transcription or insights are slow

Everything runs on your Mac, so speed depends on your hardware, and deep analysis takes longer than quick insights by design. Closing other memory-heavy apps can help. On lighter Macs, Lucca uses a smaller model to stay responsive.

Recovering a session

If something goes wrong mid-session, your recording is safe — Lucca is built so you won't lose your work. Reopen the app and check your sessions list. If a session looks missing or incomplete, email us before changing anything and we'll help.
